PEA – Palmitoylethanolamide

Natural support to physiological inflammatory balance.

PEA – Palmitoylethanolamide
Introduction

The answer to inflammaging

PEA is a molecule naturally produced by our body, known above all for its contribution to the balance of inflammatory processes. With age, the organism tends to maintain a low-grade, persistent inflammatory state, a phenomenon known as inflammaging.

PEA is proposed as a natural support to promote a physiological inflammatory balance, contributing indirectly to joint comfort and to general wellbeing over time.

What is PEA

Palmitoylethanolamide is a fatty acid amide present in egg yolk, peanuts and soy, and also produced endogenously by animal tissues in response to cellular stress.

It belongs to the family of endogenous lipid mediators: the body produces it on demand, precisely where and when a rebalancing signal is required.

Role in Longevity and Healthy Aging

PEA modulates mast cell degranulation via PPAR-α receptors; it plays a key role in containing chronic low-grade inflammaging.

Persistent low-intensity inflammation is today considered one of the main drivers of biological aging: it consumes resources, alters tissue signalling and accelerates functional decline. Acting on this balance is therefore one of the most relevant objectives of longevity formulations.

Nutraceutical Applications

PEA is formulated in micronized or ultra-micronized tablets, a process adopted to optimize the absorption of a molecule that is poorly soluble in its native form.

It is used in products dedicated to joint comfort and general wellbeing. It shows an “entourage” effect with luteolin and is frequently combined with curcumin for broader support to inflammatory balance.
